I know absolutely nothing about this lake other than I will be heading there for a long weekend in 11 days. This is going to be a family affair and I hope to catch some panfish off the pier with my grandkids. Here's my questions to you all: Is there a sizable muskie population? Does it pay for me to take my gear along in the hopes of getting lucky in the couple of hours here and there that I might be able to get away for some "serious" fishing? Or given the August water temps, the heavy recreational use of the lake, and my total unfamiliarity with this big lake, should I not even bother? Specific info about fishing the lake would be appreciated. thanx

Very worthwhile, okay action and fair chance at a big fish.
Head north and think about where you might find cool water.
