Location: Richfield, MN | I am looking at adding a depth finder/gps unit to the fron of my boat. Right now I just have a depth finder which makes it a pain in the butt to mark way points.
The problem I have is that I will only have about $400 to do so. I am looking at getting some ideas from others that have or are using combos in this price range.
I would prefer color and brand is not a real issue. I currently use Lowrance.
Please let me know what you all think. I will not be doing this until later in the summer as I have spent all the money I can for a bit.
.
Might be able to swing $500 as I will be selling the one on the front of the boat. Or I might hook it up to the back not really sure.
Thanks

Location: Bemidji, Lake Vermilion | I would get an HDS5. I found them online (no transducer) for $555 brand new. If you've got a univeral sonar bowmount motor, I'd splurge and get one. I have one on the bow, great unit, I have had no issues with mine, run it in split screen sonar/gps and works well for muskie fishing. |
