Location: Wauwatosa, Wisconsin | I have a 1975 fiberglass 15f tri hull lund fishing boat and just recently got myself a eagle sonar unit. i was wondering if it would be a good idea to bondo/opoxy the transducer to the bottom of my boat or screw it into the bottom of my boat. any advice is much appreciated. |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Hi, You need to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
With that said; screwing it to the bottom won't work, you can't have any airspace between the puck & the hull- none! Any airspace what so ever will cause major issues.
Use a good high grade clear epoxy - I don't think Bondo would work to well as there could be air bubbles entrapped in the Bondo. Make sure you have the right location & that the spot is free of dirt & grease.
Here's some helpful doc's. The second one is most detailed- the RTV dam around the puck location is a good idea as it prevents the epoxy from flattening out/flowing away from the puck.
