Watch this clip; the couple times I have two pike on camera briefly, the pike that DOESN'T hit the Darter takes off like a streak when the other eats the lure. I've seen this many times this winter, and it appears the sudden burst of speed in an attack on the lure by even a smaller pike causes a flight response from Pike #2.

That is a sweet video. Wish I had the set up to go out and do some ice fishing!!!!!

weird stuff. pike are a physcotic species.. maybe the striking fish triggers fear into the other.
