| I was a young boy when I caught my first musky.I remember it had a strange odor.At that point, I drew the fish close to my nose,suddenly the fish thrashed,mouth opened,and sliced my nose open.To make a long story short,whenever I pull up to a spot,I can generally smell if a fish is present.I have always described the smell to rusty metal.Am I alone on this one? It gets better.I have a 2yr old Bloodhound who loves to fish.He also Knows what a musky smells like.Keen sense of smell? Now mind you,he can smell a fart 10 miles away, in a tornado,that was left 3 wks ago.So I'm cruising down the lake,the dog drops to the floor and starts doing the snake or something.So I stop the boat and start casting and bamm a 45"er. I think I might be on to something here....Anyone with similar experience? |

| Kinda...I had a "seeing eye dog" once...didn't realize it until he brought home a glass eye...for the next 4 yrs we traveled the land helping those who lost an eye until finally he started getting them confused w/ marbles; now he is just a memory, I can't see going through all that again![:0] |

| You are,Sponge,a man of vision.I see the parallels.Big fish come and go,but a good dog is a once in a life time experience.Even the filthy rich spent thousands,searching for that rare,genetically clean,K-9 companion,to help them forget about that botched up family tree of theirs.A tree that is filled with Gypsies,tramps,and thieves.Even though I don't have much,my dog makes my feel like a King.(Rodney)I wish I could say more,but this mutt is humping my leg.I think I'll let him finish today. |
