I have recently had several of my old reels reconditioned. Of the 8 I have two that will not consistently engage when I begin reeling after a cast. One is a 6500CA and the other a 6500C. Any ideas on how to correct the problem would sure be appreciated.

Sounds like they have been wrongly put together, maybe using pirated spareparts. Are you doing the maintenance yourself?

One solution would be to disample it yourself, remove grease and oil, check the parts, and re sample it using some of the repair tutorials you can find on the internet. If you invest a little time, reel repair becomes quite easy, just like repairing a bicycle.

Thanks a million...I am not doing the repairs myself but will now give it a try. I appreciate the input!
