In the market for a new set up. Going for a 6'6" St. Croix med. heavy cuz I like a shorter rod because I fish a lot of streams and it's hard to find the room. I was thinking about checking out a mitchell. I admit it's because of bucher, but i'm a little unsure because of bad experiences in the past with mitchell reels. Any opinions?

The Spidercast reels will treat you well, I have several, and they have performed flawlessly.

I have the spidercast 900, and it works great. Six bearings, and six pin adjustable centrifugal braking make it pretty smooth. I also like the fact that it comes with a powerhandle, so I use this reel for crankbaits. It is a little heavier then other reels, but it is strong, and can even be used in saltwater.
