I was on the Navionics site this evening, looking to see if this new Hot Maps Platinum chip of theirs is compatible with my older Lowrance LCX-26cHD unit. I see they only list compatibility with today's Lowrance HDS units.

Anyone know the answer?

The software isn't compatible with that generation of Lowrance. Unfortunately that is the way technology works. Now I don't know if a software update would take care of it, but my guess is Lowrance won't rewrite software for that generation of units, until they get the 3.0 software done for the HDS...
