Location: Contrarian Island | kicking around getting a digital video camera this season. Anyone have any suggestions on one that is easy to use, takes good video and is easy to download etc to the computer? would like to stay under 600 if at all possible? thanks

Location: Norway | I guess you're gonna film in your boat, then I would suggest a qualitybrand camera that you can have screw-on wideangle lens on. In the cheaper range camera I always look for the cameras that have the most extra gear (that I might could want...like the mentioned wideangle, underwater case perhaps, a hotshoe and minijack for an external microphone)

| Brad,
Check out the Canon Vixia HD (model HG21) - I picked one up about 6 months ago. It takes amazing HD video. Lots of cool features and easy to use. It has a 120Gb internal hard drive and will take SD cards as well for additional space. I have been "testing"it on a small tripod for this upcoming season - It has a small remote control and the screen spins around so you can see yourself talking the video - allowing you to video alone if you want. The only thing I would recommend is an extra battery (around $70) I get about 60 minutes on each battery. I think I paid around $800 but they were fairly new 6 months ago.
