i have an abu garcia revo bass reel that ive had for about three years now and as soon as it got cold out, whenever i reel fast it makes a high pitched ringing sound and i cannot figure out what the problem is. i oiled the levelwind and it went away for a little then started right up again. Has anybody else have this similiar problem or have a solution?

I would oil all of the bearings first. A revo SX or STX has 10 bearings...4 of which are in the handle.

Don't allow any oil to get to the drag washers!!! And don't be that guy who dunks the reel in the lake to eliminate weird noises.

The wormgear and gear teeth want very light grease, the bearings a tiny bit of high quality oil. Almost everybody overlubricates their reels when a better approach would be to totally tear down and clean all reel parts then reassemble with only the lubrication necessary to each specific part.
