Hi guys, well, I found a plastic bag in the basement with 50 maple bodies that were supposed to be gliders, but they never really worked out. So I've decided that they have a very nice profile for a 7" crank/troll bait. I'm not going to cut grooves for lexan lips, and they aren't going to be trhu-wire construction either. I'm taking the "easy" way out and will use screw in metal lips. I figure that I can use 5 as ghinnea pigs, and use different lips and positions, and even a screw eye in the nose and just a metal lip like I would use a lexan one. Any tips would help.
I don't want real deep divers, 6-8' will be good enough. Should I weight the belly a little with a lure that size? 7"x7/8" What shape lips gives you the tightest wiggle or widest wobble?
Thanks guys.

Don't know about weighting the lures but as far as lips go, a narrow lip{ like a Rapala} seem to me to give a tight wiggle while a wide lip { like a bomber} seems to give a wider wobble . I'm referring to the bass style baits here. Lenght of lips and angle will help get the lure down. I'm sure that if you make them , then the fish will come .
