On my Alumacraft my boatsides are too wide for the Down-East holder I have.I can put them in stright up an down but I lose the distance I can put a rod in the water. What the best way to mount a rod holder on top side of the gunwale of my boat.I've got the cheap single clamp, but I've taken out the rivets and screws and replace them with larger bolts to get me by.I,ve seen were people use wood and big C-clamps. My transom is to big for the good Down-east holder too.Want to be able to have prop wash rod that will work. Thanks for any ideas and your time. Dennis Blume

Dennis,
You may want to add Bert's Custom Tackle Tracks,Slide Blocks for the Down East S-10 Rodholders: http://www.bertscustomtackle.com

Dennis, you can get this track system from burt's custom tackle. The tracks mount on your gunnel and you will need these block that screw into those track so that you can mount your downeast S10s. I think Captain Larry explains it all on the other rodholder post.
