I have the esox ltd and was wondering if I should mount the berkley rod holders to the steel side rail on the boat or some place on the wood?0723

I had Down East holders mounted on a Carolina Skiff + they were rail mounted + did well! [:sun:]

I run a Tuffy Esox with the Roberts rod holders mounted on the aluminum rail that runs along the side of the boat. The are held on to that with the mounting brackets that are used when you would rail mount them. It keeps the rods up and out of the way and I can angle them down so the rod tip's are in the water to help stop weeds from sliding down the line to the lures when trolling.
