Location: Maple Grove | The ring on the tip top guide on one of my rods popped out. Can I pick one up somewhere and replace it myself? Maybe keep a few on hand if it happens out on the water?
I'd like to say a fish popped it out, but more than likely I wasn't paying attention and jammed the tip into something! |

Location: Hayward, WI | I'm not sure if you can replace the insert, but you should be able to replace the whole tip top. I would email the rod manufacturer to see if you could get one (or more for backups). I had a problem with a St. Croix icefishing rod tip top a few years ago. I emailed them, and they sent me new tip tops along with the very handy glue they use-free of charge. Most tip tops will just slide off after carefully (not too much) heating the tip's ferrule lightly with a match. Most glues also melt with heat and then cure.

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Joe, you need to replace the whole thing. Any rod repair place can help you with that and it shouldn't cost you too much.
