i get the wire from staminainc.com or pastikas..it's cheap

i started making my own staylock type snaps too

remember, don't cut your loose ends of wire off.....bend and snap

by a dubrows leader maker, so much easier to get good wraps...i put shrink tube over my wraps too, im always paranoid about the smallest details, and that's all i need would be nicked or cut line when it counted.

i tie a 250 or 300 barrel swivel on my rods line that need swivels (welded ring swivels, the berkely ones i think). then i put a #7 bucher or 3x ring on....the leader gets attached to that.....the business end gets a staylock#5 or this year, one of my staylock types...that way, if the leader gets bent out....just take it off the split ring, put a new one on, and put the staylock on. saves some time and is safe so far.

rods that dont need split rings (rattle trap and crankbait rods) just get tied direct.
