Location: Milwaukee, WI | If you like variety in the water you fish, you will like the Cisco Chain. Thousand Island Lk. is the deep, clear lake of this chain. It is about 80-90 ft. at its deepest. It has plenty of weedbeds, too. Mostly milfoil.
The other lakes are smaller, shallower, and stained green. There is just about every type of submerged cover in the chain to fish that you could want. Miles of shoreline with submerged wood. Lots of anglers, including me, fish this shoreline sunken wood.
Hundreds of acres of thick weedbeds are scattered everywhere throughout the chain.
There are gravel bars in the middle of many the chain's lakes. These gravel bars also hold all species of fish, including musky.
Musky are in every lake of this chain. If they are more numerous in any one lake, I don't know. I haven't seen or heard any evidence to support it.
GanderMtnGuide, aka John Heibler, spends more time up there than me, so I hope he will sign-in and give you some specific patterns to try in June.
For a great lunch, dinner, or cocktails, be sure to stop in at Bents Camp on Mamie Lake. A very unique place with good food. |
