OK, Who went fishing this weekend?
Me and Mauser were to go to Cave Run for the weekend, but ended up fishing his local tiger muskie pond Saturday. We thought we had prime conditions: a clear water reservoir, 60* water temps, and a slight wind that kept some color to the water. Fished mostly shallow flats, I got one bass on a baby depth raider, but no sight of the muskies. Maybe those high clear blue skies and the recently passed cold front had something to do with it?
Frankly, I wimped out. My recent carpal surgery caught up to me about half way thru the day, and we did some trolling so I could rest up. What was supposed to be a 2-3 day weekend of fishing got cut short and I spent half of Sunday with an ice pack. I did get a chance to throw some of my new and new-and-improved baits:
Muskie Treats - couldn't wait to get those in the water! The new walleye flavor worked real nice, and the color scheme was perfect for the lake. Now, the re-built Bubba gave me some problems, not sure if it's the extra coat of E-Tex or new tail or what, maybe I was just outta practice, too. Very cool paint job on it now, we need some more time together.
Pink Beavers - I threw the smallest pink bucktail with the silver blade. Had trouble sometimes getting the blade kickstarted. The color is spectacular in clear water, wow! Can't wait to throw the other two bigger baits.
Tuff Shad - got a new paint job on the T-Shad, thanks to RAZE. Wow, you can see those sparkles for a mile, it actually looks like a shad in the water now. Very fine action, the hard coat did not spoil a thing. Excellent!

Of couse, there was the fine company, too, we had a real fun day on the water. Only one or two things (fish) could have improved the day. m

A fat 38 incher on a local stream in West Virginia. Also lost another nice WV fish earlier in the day. Good Luck

Not a musky report but I was in De Pere fishing walleyes. Caught a few nice one's. 6 over 20" and a bunch under but no real monsters. Saw a few larger eyes caught, most were all spawned out.
