Can anyone provide insight on VHF Radios? What to look for? Any specific models that cannot be recommended or to stay away from. I spend a few weeks a year on LOTWs.

Thanks

My only advice is spend the money on a quality Antenna. If you think you will need long range go for the 8 footer. You can always have a short whip antenna for local smaller lakes as a back up.

Been happy with my setup. Lobi, Shep and everyone here was a big help. ICom 402 and the 8' Shakespeare Galaxy antenna.
