Location: Aitkin, Blaine, Minnesota | I recently aquired a new boat and I am going to put two Lowrance x20's on it. (bow/ drivers console). I am wondering what are the pros and cons of having them rigged permanently (cut in dash/bow panel) vs. on ram mounts.
Any experiences/ thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike |

Location: Mendota Heights, MN | Four negatives come to mind:
1- you won't be able to swivle them around to see them as you move around in the boat.
2- you won't be able to remove them when you are parked at some cheap motel overnight on the way to some canadian lake (could get stolen)
3- if you decide to upgrade them you will have a tough time matching the hole sizes
4- you cut holes in your boat

| My reason for not putting them in the dash is if you do have a problem with your console unit you could easily switch units and have a flasher for moving about the lake, especially if on an unfamiliar lake or Canada.
Good luck, Murph |
