Location: North East PA , 20 mins from Chautauqua | I have a jerkbait rod that needs fixing hopefully without sending it out ? The reel seat is loose , I mean the whole plastic piece whenever I jerk the reel moves and it drives me nuts ! Is there an easy quick fix for this ?

Location: Anchorage | Drill a small whole in the top of the seat and one in the middle. Fill a syringe with either two-part epoxy or polyurathane glue and inject it into the seat. If done carefully it you shouldn't hit the blank as their should be a small gap between the reel seat and the blank. I'd use the glue as it expands, thus requiring getting less in the seat. |

Don't spend the money to send it out and have someone take off the handle to re-glue it.
Warm the epoxy with a hair dryer and it will flow nice. After injecting, tape off your holes so it won't drip. Make sure you have it in line with your guides. |
