Does anyone have suggestions for preserving the memory of a big fish, other than a replica? Has anyone had portraits or drawings done? Thanks.

Sounds like a pretty good way to imortalize that trophy with a personal touch. A repilica is really an highly specialized painting of the fish, i.e., on a custom three dimensional media. I would try someone like Virgil Beck. I'm sure there are plenty of other artists out there too. Depending on the artist you may actually pay more than the comparable cost of the replica. But the end product may have more financial value long term....... Good food for thought.

Here's a painting my Dad had done for me of an exceptional Wisconsin fish from the 1970's. It's sort of a 'concept' piece, and is among my favorite paintings/prints in the house. I'll try to find the exact snapshot it was from tonight.
