For those of you who like to throw jigs and creatures, do you prefer the paddle tail versions or the creatures with the colorado blade attached to the tail? What type of tackle do you like to throw them with? Have you had any success with them in the late fall when the cabbage is dead, in deeper water outside the weededges where there are patches of sand grass? Are they effective on lakes where there is a lack of weed-growth in general?

Both types have a time and place. I pesonally prefer to fish my jig slowly as opposed to some creature fishermen who rip and swim their creatures. I like a 1/2 to 3/4 oz jig with a swimming tail in clear to stained water. The dirtier the water the more you need a blade or more of a paddle tail to get some vibration for the fish to zero in on. You can also change the rate of descent by the size of blade on the tail. The larger the blade the slower the fall and vice versa.
I throw lizards and sometimes craws and pork on my jigs. The clearer the water the smaller I go with my presentation. This may not be the best way to get a big one nut is a great tourney tactic.
As far as location and time of year. Fall is by far the best time for me. Deep weed edge where there is still green weed to be found. Rocks can be very good. But the trully best spot is where the rock meets the weeds. This is the real deal. The fish are there you just gotta figure out what they want on that day.
Hope this helps a little. I could go into more depth but we can maybe save that for the chat room or another time.

As Always,

Hey, Matt--- I have two articles regarding creatures in the article section. Look at them, and ask any questions you wish after doing so, and I will try to help![]
