Location: indiana | hi guys. i'm looking for anyones suggestions and input on what setup would be best in this situation. i have just purchased an x-135 by lowrance. my boat currently has a humminbird 128dx at the console. i have the accessories to mount a transducer on the bow mount troll motor and the transom. should i just switch the unit from front to back depending on fishing situation or leave the humminbird at the console and put the x-135 at the bow? probably 75% of fishing will be done at the bow from jigging walleyes to casting for northern/muskies. the other 25% will be trolling for several species from the console. any input from the pro's would be greatly appreciated. todd |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | To me it would depend on where you think you would benefit most the unit that has higher clarity (pixel count) and the features you want.
If you're fishing for walleyes I would probably want the unit with the higher clarity/separation in the position where you will be the most while your fishing for them.
For musky all you really need (in my opinion...not that it's right or wrong) is something to show you good bottom transition/composition, weeds, structure separation, etc. Most basic units with 168+ preferably 240 verticle pixel count will be more than adequate for basic musky fishing.
Hope this helps a little

Location: indiana | thanks mark. i think i have made up my mind on how to do it. i bought abattery and trickle charger to put in the front compartment to run the unit up front, probably where it will get the most use. |
