| I've heard the area around Cass Lake can be a bit rough in spots, so are there any lodges you recommend more than others? Doesn't need to be super fancy, I just want to make sure my stuff is safe and the staff are cool. |

Location: Alexandria, MN | Sunset Cove is nice. Clean, comfortable cabins. Protected harbor. Bar/restaurant with a good "bar food" menu (burgers, apps, sandwiches, etc). On Allen's Bay.
Stony Point has everything, but it's a bit of a circus at times.
If you're looking for a little more peace and quiet, Chippewa Pines on the east side near Pennington is good. Have stayed at all 3 - no problems.

| Chippewa Pines is nice. It is a private resort now with Cabanas that are nice for a smaller group. It is a good place to stay. We stayed at Kitchi Resort a few years back. They had some small cabins that worked for us. It offered fishing on some lakes we normally would not have fished. It is a bit of a drive to get on to main lake Cass but was a decent place to stay. Stoney Point was a ZOO almost every time we went there. All are options to check out. |
