Have a fairly new Terrova but would like a larger 9" unit for the bow. Helix in 9" and larger are no longer offered by Bird. I do like the Garmen echomap UHD2 93sv. What would I gain or loose with this unit? Don't really want a 7" screen or one larger than 9". I realize that Minkota and Helix share some operating functions. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If the Terrova has I-Pilot Link, you won't be able to use those functions with a Garmin. If it doesn't have I-Pilot Link, either one should be fine. I have both helix 9 and 10 as well as Garmin 106SV and 126SV. I prefer the Garmins...touch screen, resolution seems better (but the Helix graphs are older by several years). I prefer the Helix Lakemaster maps over the Garmin Navionics but the built-in Garmin maps are far better than the stock bird maps. Don't know what transducer your Terrova has. If it has the universal traditional 2D sonar, use can get adapters to connect the transducer to the Garmin. If it has DI or SI, I don't think there are adapters available so you would need to install the Garmin transducer on the TM.
