I have an older 55 lb minnkota power drive. The steering engages right away but the drive motor hesitates on both the pulse and constant. I can hear a click in the motor but it could be 5-10 seconds before the prop spins. It's usually quicker with the constant button pressed, but not by much. I've tried 2 batteries, same results.

Any ideas?

Burn/singe marks on the coils within the lower unit. I believe that was how it was described for me once in the past when I had a similar issue.

Is that something that's easily or affordably fixable?
