Location: Long Prairie, Minnesota | Hey all. So when I bought my 681 it didn't come with a unit on the bow. Being a Lowrance guy from years back, I bought a HDS 7 and put it on the bow and used that the last year 1/2. This was mistake #1! The boat is all setup and wired to be able to network Humminbird units, which is why I should have went that way to begin with. Anyways, I run a Helix 12 Gen 3 at the console and purchased a Helix 9 Gen 4 for the bow. That unit will get connected to the Ultrex for transducer and the rest will be networked with the Helix 12 on the console. Which bring up the questions. What information will the units share between one another? Do I need to get a lakemaster chip for the Helix 9? Will all my waypoints, tracks and data from the 12 show up on the 9? Thanks in advance for any info or insights you can share! |

Location: Twin Cities, MN | I run Birds / network, and you need a map chip for each unit. You can select various options for what transducer you want to see on each unit, but for sure you a map chip for each unit. Mine do not share, unlike my old Lowrance units.

Location: Northern Illinois | Waypoints and tracks are shared between Helix units. And as said above they share transducer data and gps data. |
