Just a comment about fishing when water and air temps are below 48 degrees...I have saved two parties over the years, and my son saved a husband and wife this Spring because they failed to wear their Personal Flotation Device...vest... when the water and air temp was cold.

There is really no excuse for not wearing one when under power anytime, but now...it is CRITICAL. You have 15 minutes in 45 degree water with no vest, and hypothermia will take you down,no matter how well you swim.

Anyone can end up in the lake very easily, so wear your PFD. It can retain enough body heat to get you out of the water, and will keep you afloat so energy can be used to swim.[:0]

Stearns floater jackets are great this time of year, warm AND floatation also.

Sworrall, how reliable are most survival suits which claim to keep you floating and warm for at least 4 hours? Is the weight mentionned on it (personal weight) a good bet or should I take it a bit more?
