After Wausau show swap meet where Todd Cleveland went crazy discounting Hardheads to $5
I ended up with a bunch.
Wondering if you guys have found cool modifications to do to these, especially to make them more erratic, wiggle, hang etc maybe adding a different brand tail or something else to the back. Obviously you could attach a spinner blade.
I'm thinking maybe adding the next size up tail which might make it hang or coast.
Love to hear what you have done.

On the smaller ones the original thin tail was perfect. Unfortunately it is no longer made. Somebody should make it!! With a belly weight and the tail + rear hook tuned just right you can really get some nice wiggle and movement. A close second on the grub is the 8" kalins mogambo which is very close in shape but much softer. The bigger stock tail has a nice thump from the tail but takes the erratic out of the bait.

The bigger ones, change your rips from right to left and repeat, they respond well to that.

I have an H2O original small one and a Phantom small one. I added the Phantom paddle tail from The Musky Shop and have used it more like a bucktail. My thinking was, I can burn it like a bucktail, but it's something different than a cowgirl/showgirl those metro fish haven't seen. Tried it sparingly last year with zero fish, BUT I was able to burn it without blowing out and the the bubble/gurgle it made was unusual. I like the versatility, in that I can burn it, slow roll it, rip it like a dawg, etc....

I'm thinking...burn, pause, flutter, burn, pause, flutter, repeat for 2016.

I realize this isn't revolutionary...I just thought, it might be different enough.
