Help! I acquired an older Evinrude 3HP which I'm thinking of using as a kicker. Problem is, if there is one, that the bottom of the boat is an inch or two deeper than the bottom of the little motor. Will this be a problem, or will too much water be displaced even at the slow speeds I'll be traveling? I'd sure like to know just in case someone has experienced a problem or not a problem with this. Thanks.

Strap it on and try it out with a portable gas tank.

You will be fine if your forward trolling the only time you might have a problem is if you try to back troll.
