Will muskies regularly use very small peices of structure that have baitfish on them? I'm talking about 1 Christmas tree in 12-20 feet of water. Will muskies regularly be in these locations? What about car tires in 7 feet of water? Rock piles about 10 feet long and 2 feet wide? I'm just lookin for info on new spots to start working more often.

Zach,
Zach,

Yes, they will use these small pieces of structure. If it holds baitfish, muskies will find them. I was talking with a bass guy around here and he saw me muskie fishing and told me about some Christmas trees sunk for structure off of a point. He went there and tossed rattle traps for bass and he and his buddy caught a few muskies over a couple trips there. I have seen muskies up on a single fish crib in WI and have seen muskies swim up to small brushpiles around our pier while standing there fishing. They may not stay on the structure all the time but they do use them and they are worth casting to. Good luck.........TC

Well I had a tree I would fish, it had minimal cover. I caught 4 muskie out of it and seen a couple others. The major factor was it was a early morning spot, and with this I found a increased baitfish presence within proximinty of the spot(sand bottom).I always try little spots because they have the potential to hold a fish at any given time.Good luck
