muskyhunter24 - 4/14/2009 4:23 AM JRedig - 4/14/2009 11:29 AM I only ask because depending on where your fishing, your opener could be this weekend in 40 degree water...might have a slight effect on what you want to throw. Unless it gets below 32 from here until opener I doubt water temps will be that low. Last time I checked the temps on Wingra they were just breaking 50 degrees. Um, you do know there are quite a few states where you can legally fish muskies right now? So in theory they already had their "openers"....my "opener" trip was a month ago. Not to mention his location says illinois, so what opener would he be speaking of exactly? | |||

Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | I love Wisconsin! Our Family has a cabin in the Tomahawk area & I live/work 3 min from the state line. The only thing I dont like about Wisconsin is the Packers! The opener for Wisconsin is like a holiday for a bunch of us & we talk about it all winter long. Sure we can fish Illinois, but it's not the same for me. Planning trips up North can be as much fun as the trip itself sometimes. Reading maps, what lakes to hit, lure choices, gear prep, all of these things keep the interest at a high level. Gets the kids excited too.. It's getting close so I get a little twitchy as the wife would say.. Still wish the KY derby was not the same day, but it is what it is..
