| Most of you I assume have done this too. This has been kind of fun to do. I have a lot of names for places up on LOTW. The past fun experiences has brought about the names. One spot I call "Never Fail Bay." Not real original, but one trip about, three years back, my wife and I stumbled into several muskies every time we visited this really small bay. It is maybe 10 acres in size and has a nice cabbage bed along with a feeder creek. A year earlier on the last day of our visit to Sabaskong a walleye party had mentioned to me about all the walleyes they had been finding in the current back there. Sure enough the muskies were there too. That same year a large complex, complete with islands, saddle, bar, frags, etc. had a family of loons on it. My wife loved to listen to them call and all and it became loon calling bar. Caught my first Canadian musky there on a Wick globe at first dark. It had followed a topraider a few minutes earlier. There are many names and great stories that go with almost every one.
Record Book Reef, THE island, Heartbreak Point, etc. Anyone care to share stories or place names? |

| I fish a spot we call PrimeTime and one other we call Frankenstein's Lair.
There are others but not so unique.

Location: oswego, il | Or you name a spot for other reasons. There was this one I names because this one guy moved in and parked on it all day. It became his bar which is now it's official name. We have another spot named after me when I had to make an emergency stop on the bank. |

| Yes...many nicknames on LOTWs
Heartbreak Ridge...Missed a VERY large one there one night...I thought a submarine was chasing the lure...My partner had time to reel in and came to the back of the boat to see this monster come right up to the back of the boat...caught a 48" the night before on the same spot...
CPR Point...Took my partner 30 minutes to resesitate one musky (as I kept casting) his next cast, after replacing hooks, he nailed another...
Big Mama Point...She is still there, hopefully...another point where we had several large fish visit but choose not to stick around...
Bays Reef...good one year, each time we would go out we would get bite or many follows. The next year there was nothing, and just across from it...
Ugly Sister Reef...Does look real good, but she puts out every once in a while...
Then there is naked guy bay...we are having shore lunch and this boat comes out of this bay. He is driving a tiller with his back to us and doesn't know we were there. He stands up buck naked - full moon, picks up his shirt, puts it on, sits back down and takes off. What a surprise the MNR may have had...three more weeks of therapy and I should be cured!!!
I would guess there are a few "heartbreak" locations...

Fat Chick Island - would like to say because of the size of the fish there, but was really to big girls swimming at a cottage there.
Herpes Hump - rock pile on Vermillion that a Herpes Squriko has produced on.
Pelican Island - LOTW - GregM had a pelican fly in and chase his Hawg Wobbler and almost get it....very funny |

" 2 man shore" ....a stretch of shoreline me and a buddy tore up one awful windy day
"The Channel"...simple yet effective, a spot no one fishes at all that we discovered is loaded with muskies
"Murderers Row"..a shoreline filled with huge logs in the water with luscious cabbage
Worse then spots, we started Naming the actual big fish that "live" in certain places that we constantly raise on multiple occasions but have yet to catch, good times |

| I have a bunch of names, Musky Alley, The Musky God, Toothless Bitch, Banana Island, 5 FIngers, etc. But the fondest is the one I named with KLY. 7 Sluts was the name we gave the spot. We fished there together at the first Sab Bay outing, and raised 7 fish there. Kly caught one, and I had one up and around on a Top Raider several times that day. When we decided to go back, Kly said, "I hope we see those 7 sluts again!" What a great trip and memories.

"Big Fish rock" "The Rail yard", "The Bonzi pipeline", "Six Pack", "Sundown reef" "The Junkyard"
and the list goes on.:)

Location: Racine, Wi | Ahhh, the pigpen. Gotta love that Kevin. Not an Indian Chain spot though.
We had the Money Run, Musky Row, Little Italy (or was it Ireland??) the Trailer Park, the Muffler. The muffler was named as we were fishing this area, and a guy in a pickup truck forgot to put the truck in park, and it went rolling into the water. All we could see were bubbles coming out of the water. We started throwing bright crazy colors thinking that the fish would be effected by the Carbon Monoxide.

| "Butterscotch Point"
This is a name we gave a point on the east end of lake vermilion. The reason we dubbed this particular point "Butterscotch Point" had little to do with muskies or the appearance of the point.
While out muskie fishing one day I felt an uncontrollable urge and we were miles from the cabin. So being the cunning outdoorsman that I am, I pulled up to this point and dropped a deuce. The apprearance of my fecal matter is what prompted the naming of the point. It looked similar to butterscotch pudding. |

Glass eye... Muskie had a trebble is its eye, she was released ok..
Lone Pine.. Only huge pine tree on island
Roast beef... there is structure everywhere... you get my point...
Reverse cow girl.... its two islands connected and we caught a big girl on the back side of this structure, where we did not think a fish would be.
Free Willy..... saw a 50 plus " fish look like a whale come out of water and jump
Sweaty Balls point... caught a fish on a point, it was 95 degrees out, fishing in only my boxers, and sweating my nuts off that day
WOW, i could keep going with this, it is kind of fun remembering all the fish we have caught. |

Location: Southern W.Va. | Got one in Sabaskong Bay that brings back some happy thoughts , The Dude and Steve J knows of this spot, I call it 10 Cast bay. Jonesi handed me a Stink Pickle Weagle and the fun began. 2 Muskies, 1 nice northern and Missed a hog that shook me up in this little spot, all in 10 cast. Got another spot on the north side of Blueberry island that I call Big Fish Rock. In 2 years of fishing this area , I've lost 2 good fish on this rock, never saw these fish but both felt strong, one was the strongest fish I've ever hooked, couldn't bring it to the surface or even slow this fish up, hooks just pulled free, thought I'd hooked the Great White Whale itself.

| "Bite-off Bay" A friend had fish hit the head of a sledge as well as a good chunk of fluro leader. After bringing in the partial leader and seeing a huge boil where he had cast, we went in and found the bait hung up a foot from the top, rear hook caught on a single cabbage leaf.
"Nympho Bay" Raised a 51"-53" horse several times in a little bay on an island with a cabin that three attractive ladies were staying in. We saw them out walleye fishing a couple times and we were sure that they thought we were stalking them as often as we came back on that fish. One of them actually took a couple photos of us from their porch on one pass through the bay.
"White Ghost Point" One of the first really, really big fish I ever saw was on this long point when I was throwing a Wade's Wobbler off the deep side (very clear lake) and up out of the darkness rises this ghostly white rail-road tie with fins. I said "Holy S--T" and pretty much stopped my bait at boatside, and my buddy looked over and neither one of us said a word as it came up towards my bait then swam right underneath it and then the boat and dissapeared back into the darkness.
Lost of spots named after people who fish them, or baits that caught fish on them, ect. ect.

A couple other named entities of importance are:
Lures
Suckers
The ones that got away.
As a kid the big one was always "old Mose".
Any other good names for these things?

"Boy Island" On my very first trip on my very first day I netted a 53" for a 12 year old kid in a row boat while his parents watched from the dock. Ya think I fished there again??.........
"Three Cast Cut" Caught three muskies on three consecutive casts in front of a large feeder creek in Stoney..........
"One Eye Rock" 48" with one eye.........
"Skag Taker" Awesome spot........When you think you know where you are going you really dont!!!!!!
"Mermaid" She shook me up really bad........... |

Almost forgot about that one!! That was me and Sorno. No fishing related memories, but Crazy Old Man Bay, on the Goon, is a classic. We were called every name in the book.

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | A couple I have;
The Queen's Point- Pretty much self explanatory
Golden Island - The best spot in the Northwest Angle as far as I'm concerned
Hymen Island - Responsible for a lot of firsts on LOTW
Video Island - I filmed one cast made by Todd Forcier on this spot and captured a low forties eating his creeper on film.
The Holding Pen- A small spot on Pelican that always has a fish on it
Elephant Rock Island - Nailed a 44 there first time we fished it, want to guess what the rock looks like?
Voodoo Point - A point on a Rhinelander area lake, my Chiropracter friend called a fish on it through some strange muscle test and stomach rubbing ritual????
Propless Point - Saint1 lost his prop on his motor there, five casts later I had a mid forties charging my weagle, probably never would have fished it if his prop hadn't fallen off.

Location: Wausau | A few favorites on varius lakes are - The Bat Cave (small inlet with fallen trees everywhere - one spring we needed to bring a chainsaw), Hell Hole (next to a water treatment plant and it stinks), Stumpville (obvius), Fallen Chair Bay (buddy fell out of the boat when his chair broke - he is a large man), Big Boob Bay (resort w/ sun bathers - That's my favorite, even when we don't catch anything)... |
