I had a grass carp in the 40 lb range that I snagged with a DB06 last spring. Absolutely the most powerfull thing I have been attached to.

A Bass fishing friend, and myself did a 3 day trip to W. Okoboji to fis h Smallies, and Muskies. We had did the Bass fishing for the day, and now time to fish Muskies. He had never fished Muskies, and refused to use one of my rods, instead went with his bass set-up.He went thru my box, and decided to use a rapala, because he said they always catch fish. The first cast he hooks a monster, slams the hook set, and for the next 20 minutes I,m thinking dang, what is this thing. Finally, I net a 22# Carp, hooked near the tail. The fish had tried to feed on it, because you could see the hook marks on the mouth. He was real excited, becuse of the fight, and it was the biggest fish he had ever caught. My big fish of the day was a huge Musky in the neighborhood of 20",and I don,t mean girth.

I got 62 inch stergon at lake St. Clair this year around 80# didnt think the beckman net would hold it but did. I thought i had the world record on the drag was screaming but the great white and gray beast appeared from the bottom. It was fun but sure wish it was a lunge.

Just curious Mr. Worral, did that carp eat the creature or was it snagged.

Best bonus was a 22 inch smallmouth caught off the pier first thing in the morning on a test cast before I got in my boat. The fish was caught on a large bucktail on lake Nokomis.

I have had many unexpected bonuses while muskie fishing, a 42" northern, 23.5" largemouth bass, a 26" walleye, and a 10.5" crappie that was just minding his own business which was "shishkebabed" by a Slammer Crankbait. Sharp hooks are very important!

my biggest surprises were a 28" walleye on a spoonplug and also a 18# channel catfish on a baby DR that was caught during an all night tourney. That was a heck of a fight thought i had a big muskie till i turned on the light to net him. both were caught out of west okoboji. tracy

Not the biggest, but the most frustrating. Years ago, I rented a boat from Gale Radtke on Little Green Lake, and was asked if I wanted to register for a one-day bass contest he was holding. Turned it down, because I was fishing muskies only. Of course, I caught a bigger largemouth bass than any legit entry. Incredibly enough, it was on a classic silver-and-black muskie bucktail. Only largemouth I've ever caught on an in-line bucktail, though smallies on spinnerbaits and small-for-muskies crankbaits aren't that infrequent.

This probably doesn't count, but.. I caught a 36" pike while working an 8" Jake for musky. My uncle caught a 42" pike working a black Harasser for musky. Many have experienced similar results I'm sure!

holy moly, we catch all sorts of weird fish outta my boat.

friend and i had an amazing day on Mil Lacs trolling for skies one fall...caught giant walleyes, 7-10 pound range, all on 10 inch jakes and suicks. never caught big walleyes quite like that day.

also catch about a dozen or so walleyes on jerks off rock reefs at dusk. they're always big, probably 26-30 inch range, almost all of them.

lotsa horse smallies on topraiders and other topwaters. big pike and such, but thats pretty common.

wow, almost forgot the funny objects too.

a good friend caught a brand new frabil net on the big V, price tag and all, couldn't have been down there long. he thought he had a giant. heh heh. anyone lose one? hows THAT for lost and found.

my brother caught an old nasty sock on the mississippi.

i caught a golf ball once. don't ask me how that one works, but needless to say my hooks are sharp. also caught clams bumpin bottom, crayfish, and TONS and TONS of ciscoes and other open water fish that get impaled. man thats a sight. nice to know what the forage looks like, who needs an aqua-view anyway? haha

Got to say that ChadG defintely can put people on big carp! Might be worth starting a guide service.lol
My biggest was a fat grass carp, not sure exactly how big. Thought for sure I had the muskie I raised the week before. But NO, a shamoo carp.
Other than that I have caught some big bass and a few nice northern, but nothing to out of the ordinary besides your typical ice cream pail and such.

31.5 inch Walleye on a Slammer Dropbelly glider.

The only walleye I have ever caught in my life, so I was happy with her size!

A buddy caught this brute last fall on a 700 spoonplug (snagged),, He thought he was hung for the 1st few minutes and almost dropped the retriever down on it, 67"x28", 90-100lbs. sturgeon. Personal best is a 45lb flathead and she ate it.

I caught an 8'6 trolling rod and reel while trolling on Pewaukee this past season. I was clearing the rods as we had a rip on another rod, and low and behold, I bring in this trolling rig! (the fish got off the other rod, but that didn't matter) I also snagged a big carp this past April trolling on the Fox Chain. I thought it was a good fish, then I saw her roll. That was the ugliest fish I have ever seen!!!

It was my last fish of the season last year. 44" pike about 25 lbs. My dad has several mid 30" pike but his "trophiest" fish has to be the 6 3/4lb smallie he got a few years back.

Fishing on the mississippi river with a crank bait and hooked into something fairly solid. Thought for a while it was the bottom but after tugging on it for several minutes from different angles and cussing the thing moved and slowly started coming in. Didn't really put up much of a fight until it got right under the boat and then felt like a fifty pounder at least just lying there. Dam near cut the line as I didn't want to break the rod so my partner and I lifted it up hand over hand. Turns out I was a little off on the weight, more like 35 pounds, that's 35 pounds of square, black, 12 volt cranking battery! Yup, some bone head had dumped a battery in the river or else tipped the whole rig over and the battery was lost in the frackus. The battery took it's last trip to Mill's recyling drop off. Got a picure of it for the album.

Caught a homeade anchor (rock with a bunch or rope tied around it) last year trolling with a 10" Believer. Felt like a snag, but it came with the boat and I eventually talked myself into feeling a few headshakes. Thought I had a monster until it was right under the boat. Disappointing.

Biggest actual fish...about a 6 pound LM impaled himself on a Top Raider.

I did forget about the 18lbs anchor I got at Lock and Damn 5 on the Mississippi, but that was when fishing for walleye. Hooked with our anchor when I was pulling it up.

5lb walleye while fishing a creature on a mid-lake weedbed. I was working the jig fairly fast and it was a bright afternoon....not the ideal conditions for big walleyes to feed, but this one did. It's funny how I can't seem to catch these walleye when I want to.

Both were nice surprises.

I caught a 30# plus buffalo on Lake Monona. I was using a samll skunk pattern bucktail. The fish hit just as the bucktail hit the water. What a powerful fish.
