Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Worked the Otter Street Tournament on Winnebago on behalf of the JJ Keller Fishing Team/ The Reel Shot, Mercury Marine, and Lund Boats. They start that thing before breakfast! The bite was good, lots of fish caught, most were successfully released. It poured all day, and quit about 20 minutes into the 235 boat weigh in. Perfect! There's about 123,333,555,666,777,888,999,000 sheepshead in that lake right now. http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/watch.asp?id=4036 Angler's Insight Marketing event all this week in Dubuque.

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | fished an area lake with the missus and got into a pile a gils which led to the learning of another good cabbage patch with scattered rock to lay an icon down after getting enough for a fish-fry, we casted a couple hours before the rains came and chose the nelsom method focused on the weed-edge i got a couple follows but no eaters ... 4 more and statistically we should have bagged one, but got hungry for saynor pub pizza so didn't put in the time required. during the outing we saw a crestliner out in the basin ... figuring it had to be Travis (he fishes suspendos you know) ... but found it to be hodaghunter and his son, so got to say hello to jason and make introductions. nice weekend and rare but great to put the boat on the water ... sunday we watched history and rooted for rory to do what he eventually did ... great weekend ... finished with a few holes with the boys and a nice dinner!!

Posts: 238 Location: Rhinelander | Nice seeing you sled......we spent very little time deep and went against the grain and fished shallow. Saw 7-8 fish, one could have been a pike and hooked up with (3) others. One was a short hit and off, the other two seemed good but lost them on the pass. (son is 9 and only the right thing to do). We had to change baits to get lookers into eaters. Best action was in and around 5:30pm. Sure did wreck havoc with the follow to catch ratio but thing will swing to the "norm" in a few weeks. ![]() Did keep a dozen and a half gills so all was not lost...........

Posts: 1061 Location: Medford, WI | Fished the WMT 3Lakes Tourney this weekend. Stuck with a pattern that we knew would pay off eventually and we doubled up on Saturday - only two fish we saw we caught. Sunday was a different story - saw two fish, both hit short and didn't find any hooks. Several thousand dollar fish...and that's why it's called fishing. -Jake Bucki

Location: Contrarian Island | fishing was slow for us in vilas..fished on and off from thurs nite to sat nite...bloody marys at PI Pub Sat afternoon put a dent in the time on water as did the Makers Mark Thurs nite..boated 3, lost 1 nice thick 45 right at the net..whiffed 1 sucker hit and had 2 miss baits..had about 20 follows so the ratio was about on par... none of the fish were over open water tho... ![]() Edited by BNelson 6/20/2011 8:09 PM

Posts: 243 | Caught 3 between the raindrops Sunday morning up to 37". Bite was great, but trying to take a photo solo with a full sized Sledge still in the fish's mouth was not a good idea. Got the hooks out, but almost ended up in the ER with a bloody thumb/hand. Was is worth it? Absolutely.

Like I told you, everybody has lost six fish in a row, well not everybody, but I'm sure it's happened to someone, somewhere. jk Just don't let it define your season, it's just begining. I hope I'm there when you get the stink on for the first time this year. Oh, and that second slob that absolutely crushed your Phantom yeasterday , it's a good thing she didn't get hooked after we saw the way she destroyed your leader. All in all, it was a great day on the water! ![]() Edited by T-Bone 6/20/2011 9:34 PM

Posts: 313 Location: Bemidji, Lake Vermilion | Thurs - 12hrs between Bemidji and Plant. Caught the only fish I saw all day (44.5) on a dive and rise. Friday - short day only 6hrs - not a fish seen. Saturday - 11hrs, lost one boatside around 40 on a bucktail, had a savage topwater blowup a short time later, moved a few more decent fish on bucktails/topwater. All action between 5am and 8:30am, rest of day was nothing till we moved a few shorties between 3-4pm. Sunday - got 2 trolling late afternoon/evening (41.5 and 44.5) after casting for a few hrs beforehand and seeing/moving nothing.

Posts: 60 Location: Lake Minnetonka | Kodiak and T-Bone, Johnny said he ran into you... The lures you painted look sweet in the water! Looking forward to using them up on Vermilion this week ![]() Whatever you guys are doing, keep doing it. Everyone I'm talking to out here is having a tough time right now. Talked to a couple other guides, and one hasn't had a fish in the boat here yet this year, and another told me it is the toughest fishing he has ever seen. You must be doing something right! We've been working hard for them, and getting pretty much 1, including tonight, that randomly hammers the lure and ends up in the net everytime out. Then again, we've been spending more time than usual walleye fishing. There's been an unsually great bite for them last couple of weeks... Good Luck! Nate

Posts: 223 Location: Victoria,MN | Hiya Nate, Yes Jason does a nice job with the customs. All of the fish we (mostly he) moved on Sunday were on his custom paints. It's been tough for everyone out there, it seems that you will get 1 chance at a hotty and you better be on your game or you not gonna get it. Sunday was an unusual day! Good Luck On Vermillion

Posts: 7090 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Saturday, won a volleyball tourney. Perfect weather, terrrible in pool play but stormed forward through the tourney round like our lives depended on it! Sunday, took the old man fishing for Father's Day on the beautiful Fox Chain of Lakes. 3 hours, moved 3, shook a 35 or so off at boatside, but the Pops had fun.

Posts: 60 Location: Lake Minnetonka | Been there. Shoot me an email: [email protected] and maybe I can give you some suggestions with your hooks to increase your hookups. I did see some interesting hooks that you could try that could help. Shark Men are using a huge Round hook connected to a chain for Great White Sharks, and Swamp People have a custom 15/0 treble for Alligators. Can't tell if its a Short Shank Round Bend or O'Shaughnessy though. Maybe call VMC and see if they have them...lol!

Posts: 613 Location: big cove tannery pa | CM_IA - 6/19/2011 8:42 PM That looks like an awesome sauger. No white on the bottom of the tail means sauger not walleye. I have never caught a walleye or a sauger so i donot even know the difference between the two. I'm glad someone cleared that up for me and i compared my picture and a picture of a sauger and a walleye and it does look more like a sauger. I did not get any other pics than the one i had a guy take on my cell phone. Wish i had!!!
