| Time for a new boat. Use? Musky, of course. Water? MO, IL, IN, IA, MN, WI. V or Deep V, 16' to 18'. Light weight. Right now, looking at Lund, Classic 16 or Alaskan as a base. Your comments and opinions would be appreciated.

Thank you. The Crestliners mentioned run 300 - 460# over the 16C. Weight is a consideration. However, nothing is cast in stone, so let me ask "Why Crestliner" or "Why rather than Lund"?

Yes, I've looked at the Tuffy line. The Osprey comes in at 1200#. Let me expand on the original question. First, the 65 in my name is a significant number, it means I'm old and cheap. If that number was 35, I would definitely be looking at and Tuffy or a 618, 619.
Weight is an issue, fish by myself on occasion and don't want the hassle of bull dogging a heavy. Cheap, although a relative term, is an issue, I'm looking for a boat that has most bang for the buck.
So, help an old guy here before he putzes around too much and it's time to be on the water.

| A 16' Lund Rebel is light and runs well. We had one and last year moved to an 18' Explorer with a 115. We love it, however as we will
be approaching your number in 10 years, we are also aware that the reality of age could necessitate a smaller and lighter boat. For me the ultimate issue
is that it is better to be fishing and we will do what we have to keep on the water.

Some other considerations, I would prefer a tiller and casting deck. My eyes and legs are relatively good. However, sitting starboard, trying to read gauges, GPS and Sonar on the port side is becoming a question. So, that would mean a console. Next comes up and down from the console well to a deck. That indicates a relatively flat floor will be required.
There was a time with only two questions, how fast does it go and can it go faster. Not anymore. Now it's simply will it do what I want it to do with minimum effort.

| Lunds are great boats. Look at the 1700 Explorer, or the Mr Pike Series. I have a 1700 Angler SS. Love it!

| If you want a light weight, no-thrills fishing machine look at the crestliner canadian series, one benefit over the alaskan is the raised deck up front- to get this with an alaskan you have to go up to 20ft. has livewell, bilge, and lights, all the stuff in the boat you actually have to have. |

| Have you looked at Fisher Boats ??
They have lots of the features of more expensive rigs but thousands less. They are welded reverse chined - well made
It's hard to find tillers anymore - I just found a non current new 160T Pro Avenger - !6'2" 82" beam and weighs just over 1000#'s
I looked at the new Osprey Tiller - nice if you can do 23k.
The Fisher is about $12,500 with T. M. and locator.
The best used rig I saw was a sweet 2001 Warrior 16 ft (glass) w/2002 60 merc Tiller for 10k. |

| Not sure what your price range is, but the Alumacraft Navigator 165 is an excellent boat as well. 16'7" long with a 90" Beam, it is rated for 60 HP, it has the 2XB Hull and tips the scales at #925... Usually cheaper than a comparable lund as well.... |

| I have a quote on a 1700 Osprey Tuffy with Polyflake deck and bottom panel, a 60 HP Mercury 4 stroke, Shorland'r black bunk trailer, spare, carrier, Lowrance GPS/sonar, 24 volt trolling motor, rigging, tax, freight, ready to go fishing at under 20K. Was the 23K for the 1760T? |

| Got a Cresliner 1600 angler sc...check em out...best bang for your buck and very versatile....great layout and open design, lokks more like a 17 footer. can easily fit 3 muskie casting and comfortable.. |

First, thank you. Second, I was wrong on the Crestliner weight, so they’re back in consideration. Looked at them yesterday.
Tomorrow, we look at Lund. Then, Alumacraft. Haven’t been able to find a fisher dealer yet.
Pricing is all over the spread sheet, some interesting stuff. If anybody is interested, I’ll be happy to share the data when I’m finished. Right now, bang for the buck goes to a Tracker Pro Guide, but it’s the heaviest.

Location: Slinger Wisconsin | Just a suggestion on that Osprey. If you have to spend a little more to get the Tufftrail trailer, spend the money. They have a very good supplier for their trailer at Tuffy and it will fit the boat perfect. |

| Tracker is now the parent company of Fisher and Procraft - I was told Tracker wanted Fisher's hull technology.
Roger at R&R Sporting goods in Cudahy, WI handles Fisher Boats - Good guy. The Pro Avenger is very similar to the Tracker Pro Guide. The 160 Pro Avenger is a nice boat for not alot of $$$$$$
The 23K Tuffy was the 1760 T Osprey w/75h.p. - I was quoted lower but I figure in tax, reg. etc to get real cost - sweeeet boat - a couple of tournament wins and she's in my garage !!! |

My thanks for your input and info, it is much appreciated. We are going with a Lund Classic 16SS, Evinrude 60 E-TEC. Upgraded the trailer to a EZ-Loader roller w/brakes (another thread). Added a few other options and made some modifications to the electronics.

| I will be 68 this summer, will try to get another 10 years on the water.
My boat: Lund 17 Pike with 125 Merc. I got it last fall, non current year, new boat.: $16,500.
I really like this boat, I fish pike, musky, walleye, panfish, and Lake Michigan for salmon, etc... The boat is high enough for limited big lake use while still low enough to do fig. 8. |

| If you have trouble reaching deep enough for fig 8s try a 8' rod and I would try to get another 20 yrs at least my stepfather is 85 and he is out all week by himself if noone wants to go see ya on the water |
