Location: Contrarian Island | lots of different types of "loud" imo... for a tail bait plop plop loud, Lake X lures are very loud out of the gate.. Lee's Chopper is pretty loud.. Big Mama twisted sister fairly loud... then there is metallic loud... the Rough Runner is hard to beat for that type of loud.. surprisingly Nimmer Swimmers Prop Dog for a small package is very very loud too...

Posts: 223 Location: Victoria,MN | DonPursch - 8/13/2014 11:31 AM I know this does not answer your question but loud is not always the answer just sayin On some baits the prop blade is easily tuned for a loud plop , or softer but quick sputter. This is achieved by bending the blade slightly forward for loud and rearward for more subtle. This does not work as well with the Dirdy B but the Twistd Sister and Psycho Sister are very "tunable"

I had no idea how loud or quiet you can make his baits. The bass on my Psychos would now make Dave Lombardo blush.

Posts: 32914 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | What you hear is not necessarily what is transmitted through the water. Some of the 'loud' lures don't make anywhere NEAR as much a fuss in the pressure wave world as you might think. The jointed Believer is incredibly loud. Tear your ears apart loud, in fact.

Any info on what sort of pressure wave etc the jointed believer gives off? Is it somehow different from other lures?

At a show this spring I bought a lure called a Fat Bas****. To me it resembles a Nite Walker on steroids. I have some hearing impairment and without my hearing aids I can hear it loud and clear at 200 feet. (it casts like a rocket) Have not used it much and maybe it is not as loud under water as Steve points out but it moves tons of water, far more than a Nite Walker. It makes the magnum sized Pacemaker sound like a whisper.
