| Sooo I don't have any Muskie fisherman at work only big pike guys.... they pick on my Muskie fishing jokingly. I said well I catch the big pike Muskie fishing.... I said bigger ones on big muskie lures. They said right tournament time. I might go for it... they said they use normal lures and I get pure Muskie lures on pike lake. What lures would you use. We seem to pick up most our nice pike on suicks.

| I seem to catch a lot of pike (more than I want to deal with) on a rip/pause retrieve with a 9" Granny. The pike also seem to come unglued on Pacemakers. |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | I won a Pike tourney a couple years ago using Muskie spinner baits. In a way it really wasn't fair because I had such superior tactics and tackle compared to everyone else. I used a 7 ft MH rod, 5600CI ABU reel and 65 lb line. I had never fished that lake before and only had a few hours to fish, but I found a couple of cabbage beds and dug some big Pike out of there.
We catch a lot of big Pike on 1-3 oz Muskie sized spinner baits. I prefer CJs, but Rad Dogs and Grinders work well too. What seems to work best is letting the spinner bait drop down to the top of the weed bed and then bouncing it through the weed tops. I can't remember the last time we were on Mille Lacs without catching at least one 36-44 inch Pike and have caught as many as 20 in a day.

Location: Minnesota | Spinnerbaits with paddle tails. I like a black and red reaper in the 1 1/2-2 ounce variety with a big hammer paddle tail. Role that baby through the weeds out to the break. Our troll a baby depth raider in perch on the deep edges just knock your speed down to a 2.5-3 mph. Can't go wrong with an oversized daredevil 5 of diamond or black and white. Set them northern boys right! |

| Hellhounds, phantoms, mantas, vipers, suicks, bulldawgs, and bigger sized shallow raiders and CustomX were just about all we threw while chasing trophy pike two months ago on the Winnepeg/English rivers. We couldn't throw anything that too big. Smaller baits like bass sized spinners and spoons caught only snakes. We caught just as many fish on the bigger stuff but they averaged much bigger. |

X2 Phantoms and mantas are my go to baits for pike. That being said my biggest(35") came on a medium sized black bucktail with copper blade on Eagle Lake last year. |

| pick up some shad bodies (6 inches and up). Use various bullet heads depending on depth and you'll have an epic day on the water working the weedlines. |

| My son and i went to Reindeer Lake for Big Pike several years ago our guide told us we would not do well with our bigger Muskie lures wanted us to throw Mepps Agilas #4 or #5 . We didn't have any but did well on Manta's , bigger spinners and Muskie Top water lures boat 20 over 40" for the week biggest was 47" . Good lake for Pike . |

| Pike will eat anything. They are like a goat....a water goat.
Through the ice I'll jig for pike with bondys, fuzzy duzzits, 1oz rattle baits, big sluggos, reapers, etc.
In the summer they'll eat anything no matter how big or small it is.
Using baits marketed to muskie anglers a buddy and I won a bass tournament a few years ago. Firetiger burts, pacemakers, and mantas had them going crazy and we were fishing the same areas we do when targeting muskies. The other yahoos were pitching docks and were patting themselves on the back until a couple of hillbillys in a deep V boat wearing stained jeans, barn boots, and ripped up flannels pulled in. |

| My biggest walleye (28") came on a 7.5" phantom. My biggest smallie (21") came on a top raider. My biggest largemouth (21") came on a big crankbait. I've also caught pike to 37" on muskie plugs. On the other hand, some of my biggest pike (up to 40") have come on jigs and minnows. We recently were in Ontario, and the few times we targeted pike, either with traditional pike lures, or small muskie lures, we only got small fish. The big ones only came on jigs and minnows. I wonder if the bigger lures work best on lakes that have cisco, whitefish, trout, or lots of suckers. The lake we were on in Canada was teeming with flathead sized minnows. |

| No kidding... that is one that nails the pike... Suicks.... and we have one old faded glory that nails them.... need to buy a new one but probably will not catch as many pike or muskie with the new one as opposed to the beat up sick looking one! |

I would like to go after some Peacock Bass on the Amazon With Muskie gear .one of these days.... It's on the Bucket list !

| My biggest US Walleye and US northern both came out of the same bay, 29.75" on a 10" Hughes River Jerkbait....forgot the Pike size but it was on the Hughes River "jackpot" (forgot that name too). |
