Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Picked the boat/trailer up last week from the factory and had the shrink wrap off that day.Gotta say for a 16'4" and 88" beam this has a ton of room and storage even with the console.Mounted my 40hp the same night I brought it home and spent a day doing depthfinders, trolling motor, charger, batteries, and a few other things.Need another day or so to finish it up,put some wax on it and then go prop it out. This is a new model for G3 this year and was produced in 2011 with a full windshield. Will also have a tiller model and is in production now. Pretty pumped...and may have to take it north for its first outing since we cant get a day below 100* down here. Posts: 349 | Congrats, you have a really nice looking boat!! My question though, is why did you put a 40 hp motor on it? At roughly half a ton dry weight, your boat is going to be seriously underpowered!! I would imagine struggling just to plane with 2/3 people and fully loaded.

Not everyone needs a 19ft+ boat with a minimum of 150hp to catch fish. Nice boat man, I love black boats!

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Boat will have a top speed appx 27-29mph with me and my musky gear. 2 peope it will drop about a mile or two. Had a 17'2 with 92" beam and weighed about 200lbs more than this rig and topped out 25mph. Knowing how to prop the boat and where to mount the motor height is where its at. A boat with a bigger motor is worthless to me since i fish the best musky lake here in Missouri with a 40hp limit. Rod locker is only 7ft and is the only downfall to this rig,but i use some telescopic rods. Livewell is 14" x 41" Edited by missourimuskyhunter 7/31/2012 6:25 PM

In that case it sounds like you got the perfect boat for your situation.

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Test run first thing this morning...topped out at 28mph on GPS with me and all my gear, but was not happy with the rpm's around 5000 and not a quick holeshot. I already had a 13 pitch stainless on the motor and will be dropping to a 12 pitch for a better holeshot and try to peak around the 5500rpm mark. For you storage space goo-roo's..the compartment under the front pedastal base with the two doors that open left and right,I can get 18 Plano 3730's and 2 3700's in there with latches facing up.The little storage compartment just in front of the pedastal base on the floor I can get my throw and 4 lifejackets in there, plus there is still storage under the trolling motor, some in the back deck compartments with the batteries and then another 7ft storage on the drivers side under the throttle control.Though the rod box(left side) is only 7 ft long, with telescopic rods, you can fit 5-7 musky reels/rods in there no problem. Back out to test with 12 pitch Tuesday morning.

Posts: 128 | missourimuskyhunter - 7/31/2012 6:03 PM Rod locker is only 7ft and is the only downfall to this rig,but i use some telescopic rods. Livewell is 14" x 41" Double check that..... You may be able to pull a wall in the front or back of the locker and fit MUCH longer rods in there. Nice boat BTW!

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Last update... back on the water this morning with a 12 pitch and was very pleased with performance. On plane in about 6 seconds, hit 29 mph at 5400-5500rpm's. Already diagnosed the rod locker, livewell is at front of compartment and fuel tank fill hose /vent at the back,so no go on cutting anything. My rods are all telescopic rods anyway.

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | c44hmusky - 8/7/2012 8:12 PM Nice boat. What is the overall length including motor and trailer? Mike Length of rig with 40hp sitting in horizontal position is right at 20ft. Take 22" off that if you remove the detachable tonge.
