Rich at St. Croix just shipped me a couple of the new Musky Mojo Rods. These models look and feel awesome. I got a couple heavies but they have 6 models total from MH-XH - All split grip and under $170. Keep your eyes open for these - Like the Mojo Bass rods, they will probably go quick!

Perhaps you should post some pics of a 56" muskie with your LTM's in the background
St. Croix definitely has a winner with those. Like a Legend and Premier had a kid and named it Mojo.

i love st croix! every rod i own is a croix. i understand economics too. i wish we could make EVERY croix rod in the good ole USA.

Unfortunately, what i wish and what happens is differerent and that upsets me.

I just visited the website and it looks like 8' is the longest they offer.

They range from 7'2 - 8' I believe - It's crazy that they aren't making a longer model. I am going to urge them to make at least an 8'6" XH. In todays big rod society, it is insane no to put out a long dawg rod in a new series.

That would be sweet! Any idea when they come out Jerry?

Hey Jerry, you should bring a few of those rods to the MI meeting this upcoming week so we can take a look at them thanks.

I just got them, so I haven't had a chance to really put the screws to them, however, I strung one up and they seem pretty darn solid. Very similar to the 8' Heavy Premier just off first impressions. I have to play with it a bit more to give a full diagnostic report.

Isn't a MOJO the same blank as a premier but with a prettier handle?
I think companies avoid the longer sticks in their cheaper line-ups so that anglers are pushed towards the higher end rods if they want 8'6" and up. I could be wrong though as my wife says I am usually wrong:)

Landry I do believe your dead on! (despite what your wife tells you )
Picked up a mojo bass rod when they came out. Wasn't that pleased. I do think it will be a great entry level rod for an angeler who doesn't spend a huge amount of time on the water. Can't say for certain till I get one in my hand. I must say you can not go wrong with the legend tournament. Doubt another rod will touch my hands till someone tops that! Glad to see St. Croix putting out a entry level rod a heck of a price.

Its funny how everyones opinion is different. I bought a mojo bass topwater/jerkbait rod and it quickly became my favorite. Went out and bought a crankbait series for smallmouth and it was perfect for bouncing cranks off the rocks. To each there own.

The Mojo Bass line are such awesome rods for the price it's ridiculous - I take some of the heavier models to Manitoba to fish for monster pike. They kick butt!!! The Musky series is definitely an entry level type rod at an entry level price. Durable yet a quality rod! Can't go wrong there! Will make awesome travel rods for me!

The MOJO bass is premier blank with a split grip. I think they are the same for musky. Major difference for me is the mojo not built in U.S. While premiers are.

Any difference between the actions? If they're the same blank I wouldn't think there would be, but what do I know I haven't seen them yet. What would you guys recommend, Premier or Mojo? Or is it still too early to tell?

I am going to say that there will be differences in the actions from the Premier line up to the new Mojo rods. The same blank in a Premier is going to have a different construction than the Mojo rod. Handles, reel seat placement, guides (type/how many/placement), thread wraps etc. etc. are all going to make it the action different. My understanding too is that the Mojo rods will replace the no longer available Premier series.

Premiers aren't going anywhere. The Premiers are built with the same material (including guides and reel seat) as the Mojos and the actions are almost identical. The Mojos are slightly lighter due to the lack of cork. Advantages of the Premier are: Made in U.S. and more choices in lengths and actions. Mojos are lighter and less expensive.
If you like split grips go with a Mojo or Legend Tourney. Full cork go with a Premier or Legend Tourney.

I too own a bunch of St Croix rods.
With things the way they are today, I am willing to pay more for a all USA product. I was disapointed when they brought out the Triumph line.
The only way companys are going to keep makeing USA goods is if customers DONT buy the imports. Even if it is the labor that is imported, it still takes jobs away. Right now we need those American Jobs. More than ever.
Please think twice when you spend your hard earned American money. Please put the effort into finding and buying USA made goods. It is going to cost more, But you are investing in the future of Our Country.
We are fortunate that there is a large amount of USA made goods in the musky world.
Just say NO to China made stuff. dang ol' commies....

Typed, I bet, on a keyboard and machine made in China or another country over that way. It's a global economy these days, and millions of US based jobs depend on the fact that it is. The US economy would cease functioning at all if imports were eliminated by any means.

The Mojo series is made in the St. Croix factory in Mexico. So I guess you could say you're paying some to support wages in Mexico but the factory is owned and operated by St. Croix. I'm pretty sure it's been discussed in the past how they built this second plant to "mirror" the Park Falls operation. I'll bet their workers get treated a bit more fairly than a lot of the immigrant workers who come across the border illeagaly and work as American labor. Just sayin.

It still would have been nice to have a second plant that "mirrors" the plant in Park Falls to have been built in say-Osceola Wi. instead of Mexico. BTW.. I hear there is a soon to be empty building and a lot of good workers in that town looking to produce a great product. Their old company (Polaris) as moved..To Mexico!!!
