Posts: 910 Location: South-Central VA | So I got the idea to wrap my muskie blanks in snake skin. I've been doing it on rods for awhile and this seemed like a natural step to move on to lures. I picked up a bunch of skin at the ICRBE in Hight Point back in Feb and I'm getting around to playing with on some lures. Here's number 1. It's 8", about 3oz, and swims with a nice, wide wobble. And, thank God, it floats! Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 910 Location: South-Central VA | Here's some pictures of one of my rods. It's an 8' swimbait rod that I built for myself. This rod has cobra skin on it. I just did one for a customer with diamondback skin and it came out pretty sweet. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures small enough of customer's rods. Just awesome Sooo how much would it cost to get a rod done like tha? ;-) Depends on what you are looking for. The cost is mostly determined by the blank you choose. Or, snake skin can be inlaid on a factory rod. Shoot me a PM. jeremy Edited by bowhunter29 3/29/2010 7:10 PM

Posts: 910 Location: South-Central VA | Got another snake skin lure done. This guy is the same as the last: 8", @3oz, but this one dives a bit shallower, probably in the 3-4 foot range. I love the action on this lure, it really hunts. I also like the lighter skin because it shows up great in the water. I also included a picture of some other lures I made this week. The smaller guys are in the 5" range, the jointed one is about 9", and the deep diver on the right is about 7". The pearls just don't show up well in the pictures. Sorry, I'm not a photographer!
