Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Im kinda taking a poll here. We sit down at the end of every season and discuss what stuff we sold a ton of and what stuff we could have sold, but didn't have. Please be honest and make some suggestions on what Gander should be carrying, but dont currently. If there was a product we did and dont any longer, add that to the list as well. Oh, suggestions dont have to be strictly Musky related. My suggestions as of now... 1) Flourocarbon trolling leaders 2) Bradrock Baits 3) Abu Morrums 4) Triple D's 5) Down East Rods Holders Thanks in advance for any suggestions, GMG

| After hearing so much about Weagles I think I'll have to try and track one down. Sounds like most of you guys smoke the fish on these things. When Drifter/Mania gets there new sizes out, 14" Jake and 13" Beleiver especially, I'll pick up a couple. (We're getting Canada's first BPS down the road from me next month, should carry them). My local shop has started stcoking Fig-Rigs, their 8'0 x-heavy Toothy Series stick feels great. | |||

Posts: 1939 Location: Black Creek, WI | One more vote for ERC's stuff... TripleD's, Grinders, etc. Also, if you can get the Drifter Tackle paint jobs on the Maina Tackle products.... you'd sell a TON more Jakes and Ernies. Maybe make that an exclusive Gander Mountain line-up???? Seriously, now that they are the SAME company, why can't we get the SAME paint jobs on their stuff???? A copper sucker colored Jake would be GOLDEN!!!! 25 packs of musky sized HOOKS!!!! Eagle Claw 774's would be a bonus in 3/0 and 4/0. jlong

Posts: 38 | I agree with everyone who has posted on this so far. What I don't need to see is any more friggin" Berkley fish billy clubs hanging right with the muskie tackle. Or anywhere in the store for that matter. My local GM store had them in with the Mania and Drifter stuff. What kind of message does that send? I hope that this is just an error on the local fishing managers part and not store wide. Needless to say I relocated them to the camping department for him. Good luck out there! Iceman

Posts: 4266 | Some St Croix Tidemaster In-Shore rods. They are the best lighter action muskie rods out there. I use the 8'ers for early in the season throwing smaller lures, and for trolling. Beav

Posts: 1438 | How about leader making materials. Our store didn't have any single strand, high pound flouro or musky sized 7 strand. Need to get snaps and swivels of comparable size as well. Stringease snaps are da bomb. Hunting department needs to get some coyote hunting supplies as well. Scott

Posts: 38 | Sorry reelman! No need to shout. I was wrong. It was a Shakesphear Fish Billy Club. I realy don't thing name brand matters anyway. It is the point that a fish billy club should not be hanging with muskie tackle. That sends a BAD message and that's why they are now in the camping section of my local GM store. They may work ok for driving tent stakes but not knots in a muskies head. Attachments ---------------- billy.jpg (3KB - 136 downloads)

Posts: 71 Location: Waukesha, WI | Iceman's post reminds me that this summer the Gander Mt. store in Wausau had single hook killer rigs on sale. Not surprisingly, I think it was a South Bend product with Tony Rizzo's name on it. I told the saleperson that they should ship it back to the manufacturer rather than sell them. He said that Gander couldn't send them back. Does Bucher tackle company still sell these? Since Gander has formed an alliance with Muskies Inc., will Gander stop selling the killers?

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | The Rizzo single hook rigs are on clearance for $1.97...as soon as they're gone....they'll never be back. Do what I did, buy a bunch and toss them out. I forked out about 25.00 for a bunch and put them right in the garbage can. If everybody here buys 1 or 2, they'll be gone before you know it.

Posts: 71 Location: Waukesha, WI | Good news, Gander Mt. Guide. Glad to hear that Gander is not going to stock them anymore. Do you know if the big stores up north, like Rollie's, the mail order store in Hayward and Eagle River are getting out of the single hook rigs? Keep up the good work.

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | The only problem with the hand crafted baits like Weagles/Wabulls, Grey Ghost Hounders even Slammers, is demand and supply. With about 20 stores just in Wisconsin and Minnesota Cady would be up all night, all week making baits just for us! My store and Wausau carry Cranes, I dont know who else does, but even it was 10 stores out of 70, I'd have no clue how they keep up with production.
