Anyone have a picture/feedback on the rear casting deck of the x-170?

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Made our own for my X170T. 6 gallon tank fits under the deck, has lots of extra room. Just Encase for the front, very fishable. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Is there a seat pedestal on the rear deck? How is walking perimeter of boat - stability-wise?

I will post a picture of mine later tonight.

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Stability is great, I walk the side tanks around from the stern to the bow and back all day, no issues.

Posts: 128 | Guest - 8/24/2012 8:23 AM how bout elbow room with tackle bags, rods, net... 2 guys? With the JustEncase deck box, and pedestal box I would imagine you wouldn't need any tackle bags. Rods......Depends on rod storage, but if it is in the side tank area it looks like it has plenty of room. Net is a problem IMO with any boat under 20ft. This boat won't be an exception. In boat lure storage is a requirement for me, just to get rid of the tackle bag/box.

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | That deck design won't work in the X170T. You would need a piece that closes off the area between the battery and electrical storage boxes in the rear.

Yes, helpful to visualize but am still hoping Kevin responds with whatever he has specifically for the x-170...or anyone else. Much appreciated ~

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Here's the set up: Rear deck holds gas tanks and stores items like tools and stuff in totes. Images are seat slide forward and seat slide back. Just Encase deck box takes care of lure storage. Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 156 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | On mine... Both. It was custom but done by tuffy. I think it was the first rear deck for the x-170. I'm not sure if is even an option available yet but Steve would know for sure. Do you have an x-170 and just want to add the deck or are you considering buying the boat?

Do you have an x-170 and just want to add the deck or are you considering buying the boat? Am contemplating buying a used boat (1700 deep v tiller) versus a new x-170. Both get strong consideration because of the rear deck option. I site fish primarily smallmouth and like to be up high but because of leg issues can't stand very long at all. The rear deck with a seat pedestal option is key for me. I test drove an x-170 yesterday and will weigh that option as I keep looking for a used 1700 deep v tiller. Cost will be an issue as well, have to consider add ons like rear deck, justencase, etc.

Posts: 156 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | Not sure where you are located but I would be happy to have you drive my x-170 and see how the seat and deck work for you. That offer goes for anyone else as well. It really is a great boat, very comfortable, stable, and great ride. Send me a PM if interested Edited by Kevin Mahlberg 8/31/2012 9:49 AM
