Posts: 4266 | Phase 2 of the chromation process that Stan Durst and I have been working on is in the works now. Here are some pics of lures that aren't even done yet. The 3 on top haven't been treated, the bottom ones are 2 steps away from being done, but I couldn't resist. Beav Edited by Beaver 4/4/2006 1:00 PM Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Posts: 4266 | All of my new stuff is made of harder wood. They may sink just a hair faster, but I still strive for slow fall or neutarl buoyancy. You'll notice that you can get a wider, longer glide on most models. Other than that, they still work side to side, slow or fast. wobble on the fall and catch fish. The new chrome finishes take extra steps and more curing time for each one. So you're looking at more than a week of production time. Maybe some warm weather will help that along a little. Humidity will set it back. I haven't taken many orders in the past, and usually just post on the buy/sell board when lures are ready, or almost ready. I'll continue to do the same. Beav

Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | Totaly Awesome Beav. Congrats to getting your shop ready and getting the "Chromey Things" going. As you all know, Beav makes his own baits and I do not. I am however going to produce a very limited number of custom minnow style baits in the 13 inch range. I have sold a few in the past and will again for special orders. Otherwise I have to relie on buying blanks and doing re-paints for people. Following are some results on Re-painting our "Chromey Thing" on ones used baits. The Houdini's are new however and are made by Jake Schinderle. The Chrome Team and their joint effort is just getting started. Not to worry Beavster; got a design fer a "bait oven toaster" that'll meet yer needs perfect-a-mundo; no humidity worrys, as this device is climatically controlled to the need of each individual bait in regards to the variety of dampness found w/in, and comes w/ the pamphlet Easy Bake Bait Baking 101. As stated so eloquently in the above posts, I too find the coloration fascinating; "so many fantastic colors", as sung by CREAM a # of yrs ago...dude, you gotta change yer signature song; been singing tied to the whippin' post fer days now! Took nigh near 6 months to get Iron Butterfly outta me noggin. Slap yer tail on the water when the baits are done... ![]()

Chrome and blue is probally the most successful trolling color I've used for Walleyes....I'm going to have to get a couple of DDD's and Depth Raiders painted up for Gators. Nice work fellas!

Posts: 4266 | In response to a couple of e-mails today, NO....I have not gone all chrome. It's just an option. I will still be painting my lures in some old and some new patterns, but you can always get the regular paint jobs. In fact, if I had to chrome everything, I'd go nuts! Besides, some patterns just don't look good chromed.....but you'll never see them. They're in my box already. Beav
