Hey Dudes.......

For those of you who are looking for hotels: Here are some links to the closest Hotels to Jollymon's. One is a Baymont and the other is a Holiday Inn Express. Both places are located right off of I-94 and are about 8-9 miles from the launch. Rates for both places are right around $75-$85 per night. I also included a link to Jollymon's if you are not familiar with directions to the bar. Thanks!

I went through hotwire or something similar and got a room for $50 last year. Might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the input. I know that there are a bunch of hotels in Brookfield. I tried to get some a bit closer this year. Here is a link for hotels in Brookfield found through hotwire. I'm not sure how many miles it is to the launch but if I remember right its about a 20-30 minute drive.

Yeah that was a drawback for sure and you gotta get to the lake plenty early if you wanna launch from the public launch. Have you got a room yet?

Bukes....Jonesi, Tuffy1 and myself are going to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. They had about the same rates as the Baymont but seems to be a better hotel. I know that both places had a number of rooms open and it would be sweet if we could get a bunch of people in the same area. Being closer is going to help out a lot. Shorter drive from Jollymon's on Friday and Saturday night, plus like you said, getting to the launch earlier is going to be important.

Dudes,

If your goal is to find a motel close to Okauchee, why haven't you considered the motels in Oconomowoc ? Oconomowoc & Okauchee are right next to one another. You would have a 10 minute max drive to the boat launch or Jollymon's.

I believe they are closer to Okauchee than those big name places along I-94 in Brookfield & Waukesha.

Consider:
1, LA BELLE MOTEL
N56W39755 WISCONSIN AVENUE, OCONOMOWOC, WI 53066
Phone: (262) 567-3133

2, LAKE COUNTRY INN
1367 W WISCONSIN AVENUE, OCONOMOWOC, WI 53066
Phone: (262) 569-9600

These are both small, mom & pop type motels. Some nice restaurants & taverns are within blocks of these places. There's also a bed & breakfast in a big mansion that is rumored to be haunted, but the new owners recently changed their rules to a 2 nite minimum stay.

Snaggletooth,

Thanks for the input. I searched for places to stay in Oconomowac but I all I could find was a large resort that had really high rates. Were you able to find these places online????

Thanks.

Hey guys I talked to Merry at Lake Country Inn. She told me that if we could lock in 8 rooms for the weekend she would give us a discounted rate of $58.00 per room. Standard rooms come with two full beds. She said it would be about a 5-10 minute drive to the launch. Let me know what you think. Lets try and get some numbers going!!!

Dude,

Yes, I EVENTUALLY found them online. I had to whip-on the search software a little !!
I knew these places existed because I live in Oconomowoc and drive by 'em on a regular basis.
Latety, this software for finding accommodations on-line has become so perverted with big name hotel chains & airline offers in your face that its hardly a convenient anymore !!!

I've recently been looking on-line for some places to stay in N. Wisconsin while doing fall fishing. Who on earth is expecting to find a Delta airlines flight and Hilton hotel at Tomahawk, WI. ?? All of the small, local businesses are usually waaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list, if they even appear at all.

Dude,

My mother & step dad stayed at Lake Country Inn when they visited us a couple-three years ago. They had no complaints about it. Mom is considerably more picky than I about these things. It looks relatively new on the outside. I think there is enough room in their parking lot for several truck-trailer rigs. And your equipment should be safe overnite there if its locked. Its not a bad neighborhood.

Lake Country Inn is about 1/4 mile (10-12 blocks) west of the intersection of Hwys. 16 & 67 in beautiful downtown Oconomowoc. At this intersection, the center of the town, there are probably 6 bars and 3 restaurants within 1 or 2 blocks. Spinnaker's is my favorite restaurant/bar. Babes can be seen there on Friday nites. There's an Irish-style pub around the corner from Spinnaker's. On the corner, Lakers, is a typical small town sports bar. Theres a few others close by whose names I can't remember.

I think Lake Country Inn is newer & perhaps nicer than LaBelle. This is only from appearences when driving by them, I have never been inside a room at either place. I think LaBelle is a couple of blocks west of Lake Country Inn on the opposite side of the road.

There is also one German restaurant and a couple of bars within walking distance to the west of Lake Country Inn.

Its true, its about a 10 minute max drive to the Okauchee boat launch from the intersection of Hwy 16 & 67. Just go east on Hwy 16, out of Oconomowoc, exit right at the Cty Hwy "P" NORTH exit. Turn left (north) onto "P", & go across the Hwy 16 bridge. Then, almost immediately, turn right (east) on the service road by the BP gas station, not sure, but I think that is Wisconsin Ave. & go east across the Oconomowoc River bridge, and the 2nd street on your left is the little obscure street to the public boat launch.

ST,

Thanks a ton man. You rock! So what do you guys think?? 58 bucks if we book 8 rooms 67 bucks if we book individually. It's minutes from the launch, has a number of bars and restuarants close by, has rumors of chicks in the area, and is a nice place with parking for a number of rigs!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Matt,

Is the 8-room promotion good only until a certain time or will that be the rate once we get to that weekend, if 8 rooms are booked? And do we need to mention something to them when we book?

Thanks.

Crash,

The women that I spoke with said she would like us to book 8 rooms a few weeks before the tourney. We would be saving around $10-$15 bucks per room. I personally think its a great idea----as mentioned above.

Try the Comfort Suites in Pewaukee (right off of 94 and 164 (old J). They have a pool, hot tub and a great outdoorsy feel to it. They may give you a discount for saying you're fishing a charity event.
