I finally found this picture. It's my oldest son about five years ago. His face tells the whole story. Can a kid have any more fun than this? It was raining, we were wet and we did not care.

Hey Todd, you had hair! (easy for me to say).
Yup Kids fishing, better yet, catching is awesome for sure. Lots of great memories made on the water. Someday they will be taking "us" fishing.

Take 'em hunting too, you won't regret it. My second oldest (7) was up in a tree with me last fall and we had a doe come in and go basically right under our stand. I was watching him as much as the deer. I could see him getting more and more excited and about to boil over when he finally blubbered out "SHOOT IT DAD SHOOT IT". Needless to say she was gone in a flash. He turned out to be an awesome tracker. Good young eyes I guess, he is also closer to the ground and I am colorblind. Guess where the rack is hanging on the one he helped me track? Yep, his room not mine. He totally claimed that deer.

My Daughter's first pike 2 years ago. We all left our rods at the cabin so she could be the "star attraction." Every cast was filled with the kind of tension that only fishing for predators bring. Waconda Bay was pretty noisy when this mid 20's hit her spinner bait. One of my favorite pictures for sure!

On Saturday July 3rd, I was able to take out my two younger daughters (11 and 14), and both landed their first muskies... were they some proud of themselves!!!!! (Dad had his chest stuck out a little too - LOL!)

Katherine's measured 43 x 16, and Lisa's 46 x 13... both came trolling.

Regards,

Cory, I love that nervous look on Kyles face while he's looking at that muskie. It's like..."Should I be standing this close to this thing?"

I told my daughter that if she kept her grades up enough to earn a scholarship to college, we would do something special. Well she earned a partial scholarship worth 40K so we broke the bank and headed to Alaska. She wants to study environmental science and biology so I had to show her some truely remarkable "environment". She tagged the second biggest fish of the trip and came home with some memories of a lifetime. What a great way to spend a week with my daughter.

Man... I can't wait until my boys are big enough to chase muskies. Until then, they will have to practice with good old reliable bluegills.
