| I am planning on ordering a pair of Ocean Waves soon and was looking for some opinions. I am 6'3", 295lbs with a big, fat melonhead to match. Any opinions on what frame style will comfortably fit my giant head?

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Baldy, I also have a fair size melon (7 1/2 hat size to give you reference). I tried a bunch of them on at a sportshow and found the Chicago style to fit rather well. |

| My head is about an 8 fitted hat, hell Greg from Bobbie calls me bucket head!! anywho, I use the Bluewater Optics and they are fine for me.

Location: NeverNever Lake | I wouldn't even consider buying sunglasses without trying them on first. The less light that gets in behind the lens, the farther you can see in the water. Fit is important!

Location: Iowa | I also strongly suggest finding a place that has them and try them on first. I tried on about 20 sets in Cabela's before I found the Costa Del Mar's that I now wear. If they don't fit right, you probably won't wear them and good glasses cost a good penny too. |

Location: oswego, il | Raze is correct. I should have mentioned I had a pair of costa del mars and liked that model so i bought two more on ebay of different lense colors. Still wish I could get an untinted pair of polarized glasses. |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I love my Costas... I think I have 4 or 5 pairs. (got them all on end of season clearances for real cheap). My favorite is the EX models. My least favorite also happens to be the ones that make my head feel like its gonna pop after wearing them for a while. Fit is everything. Lens color is also big after you figure out the fit part. I HIGHLY reccomend getting at least one pair in a amber lens shade. If you stick with the Ocean waves I think the good Amber one is the Backwater Green. That one should be a decent all weather color. For real overcast or dark conditions (dusk or dawn) Costa has a model in Sunrise Yellow, not sure if Ocean waves has something similar... | consider H30 Tsunami's - they come with three different sets of lenses for different conditions. only takes 10 seconds to swap from sun to overcast to lowlight lenses.

Like you I could easily win most Charlie Brown look-alike contests. I have the Ocean Waves in the St. Croix frames and they fit very nicely. I tried other frames and they were too narrow and dug into the side of my mellon... You will LOVE your Ocean Waves. I have backwater green lenses and haven't found anything better, they are worth the price.

Location: Chicago, IL | If you order directly from OceanWaves do not plan on receiving your glasses in 2004... or 2005 for that matter. They are having serious issues over there. Too bad as they make the best polarized lens.

Location: Hayward, WI | Since no one has mentioned them, I will say that I really like my Maui Jims. I have a big head and found a pair that fits great. Alot of time I will be done fishing and at home unpacking before I realize that I am still wearing them. |

| I have Ocean Waves Belize model in back water green for most light conditions and they are the best for seeing in the water. However, I just ordered Ocean Waves Crown Royal Illuminator for low light and it took them almost 6 months to get them for me in Tortoise Nassau frames despite charging me right away. That frame is the one I would go with, but try them on first as suggested and buy them over the phone after making sure they are in stock. Most sunglasses mentioned are great so it really depends on what style you like best, what gives you the most comfortable fit, and what lenses work under typical and extreme light conditions. |
