Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | They MiniDs are ready to go! MiniD, 1.75oz, 6" long and almost 10" with the tail out. 21 colors, most are baitfish colors. Triple split rings on the nose and hook and this little guy even has the coil harness in it too! Thanks to all of you who sent me color choices for this one. If they go well I will expand the MiniD line out to 42 colors in 2010. James Here they are: http://www.tackleindustries.com/swimbait.html Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Mid June for the new MegaDs, Mag and Reg. SuperDs. Those would have been ready at the same time as the MiniDs but I did n0t like the harnesses on them plus a few other things so I re-did them all. Better late than crap ![]()

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Got the new Leviathan ready to go now. 14" long with the grub tail. L-1 model is a Baby Loon and is done in glow int he dark paint and L-9 has a glow in the dark grub tail too! Just like all of my topwaters, this one has real gold plated props to give it some "bling" in the water ![]() http://www.tackleindustries.com/piketopwater.html James Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | The new Hairy Ploppers are now bagged and ready! This is a new twist to my topwater arsenal. A 12 inch hybrid bucktail/topwater with two sets of saltwater tinsel. That is not the cool thing though! The Hariy Plopper sinks! Yes, I know "A sinking topwater??" The Hairy Plopper sinks REAL slow at a little less than 2 inches per second. When reeled in it snaps back up to the surface and plops away. Kind of a dying fish with bladder control problems ![]() Thanks James http://www.tackleindustries.com/topwaterbucktail.html Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Hi Jerry. Funny you say that as I posted pictures of my "Hairy Plopper" about MONTHS before ANY news of the flashabou Top Walker was every released. I saw it and heard about it for the first time at the MN show. I have been working on mine for almost a year now. And while I like the Top Walker are you suggesting that it is the original hybrid topwater/bucktail? (HINT Jerry, don't answer that. Its a setup question because they were not!). So as stated on another chat board when you came after me a few month ago, "I guess both of our companies are copycat companies ehhh"... But lets not kid ourselves here Jerry. We both know who you are and the intentions of your post. And Jerry, as I have said many many times before, if you don't like my lures don't buy them. Have a good week. James

Posts: 692 Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | There is pretty much nothing left original in this industry, wether or not it is "the first" of a type of bait is hearsay. I was just making an observation. Did we have this internet conversation before? My qualm isn't with you, it is just that there are so many quality bait builders out there, why can't anyone do anything original anymore? I mean how many #10 blades, tail bait topwaters and rubber curly tail jerks does this world need? I just long for the day that someone makes something original! Who knows, maybe I gave you this response on that other thread you mentioned - if so sorry for repeating myself. Good luck with your baits.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | If you want something original wait until you see a new Spinnerbait I am working on. Variable depth without changing weight on the lure! 5 seconds to modify it and wally, completely different bait. 20 seconds and the color is changed out. Almost 2 years working on this one. I hope you will think that one is original ![]()

Posts: 742 Location: Grand Rapids MN | I look at them as just another option or choice to choose from. Everything can be similar it just depends on what level you decide to look at it. Many Buicks and Olds or Fords and Mercurys that are very similar cars with little detail differences; same deal.... options/choices. I find it funny that when there is a very popular lure that people go into depth about how it is different from the rest but in this case it's the opposite. I'm sure it doesn't sound like a top walker.... It would be nice to see something revolutionary but even then it would be grouped into some kind of category.. JMHO

Location: Northern Wisconsin | what in this world isn't a "copy" of something else. if you want something original design it your self and stop complaining about others who are just trying to make a living.

Posts: 692 Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | Revolutionary is a good word - That is what I'm looking for. Where are all the mad scientists in this industry. I wish I had the dedication and focus to build baits and be a revolutionary. Instead I bide my time, waiting for the MN opener and inadvertently insult people on the forums. I think I need a second career.

Posts: 1168 | I know of a bait builder who is importing wood from Malaysia. Some pretty wacky stuff. Looks like any old regular crankbait but just an example of how the material used makes a bait very very different from what it looks like on the surface.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Not to beat this horse much further but at the time I made this I thought it was new and improved. I did not see any topwater/bucktail using any flashabou or mylar material for skirts, no topwater (but mine) uses real gold plated props, and I have never seen a topwater/bucktail slow sinker. FYI-it you bring mine in real slow it will come in sub surface, the skirts pulse (slightly) and I am sure that blade is putting out some vibration. So, IMO I thought it was something new. Not that it matters to anyone here but this is also made for saltwater fishing.

Posts: 267 Location: Right behind you (tap, tap) BOOO | I personally like seeing the similar products through different manufactures, it helps keep price points from getting out of line. Do I have to spend almost double for one lure because they are the one that made it famous, or do I get a better deal buying the knock off that is sometimes made better or just different enough so it's not what everyone else is throwing. This doesn't for just Muskie Baits this goes for everything. Kudos to all Lures builders as I'm sure you do it for the passion of building baits, cause I'm sure you aren't going to make millions if even a substantial year salary. just my .02.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Believe it or not my net profit last year was $10,400 after all bills were paid and I worked an average of about 30+ hours a week growing my tackle company along wtih my 50 hr a week full time job that pays the bills. Not the best payback yet.....But I do get my lures for cost ![]()

Posts: 968 Location: N.FIB | sounds like tackle industries spends alot of time and money in his products, probably more than most.He trys to make good with his products and people who have anything to say about him or his products,a regular user of this site, seems like an ok guy to me.I would rather buy this lure than a topwalker because of the price and have not used this kind of lure before so the confidence is not there. Are these gonna be available on MTO or just your site.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | CASTING55, Aaron(MTO) can get you anything you need. He may not have it up yet but if you see anything of mine you want along with your MTO order I am sure if you email Aaron he will get you fixed up! I know I leave some money on the table but I would rather you order from MTO http://www.muskytackleonline.com , Rollie and Helens, Big Wood Musky Lures, etc to "share the wealth" (LOL). We all have families to feed and they have helped me out by carrying my products so I like to return the favor and share it back with them if I can. Make sure you buy some Holcomb tackle too though. While I have only met Luke one time he was about the nicest guy you could ever meet and I have only ever heard great things about him. Love his lures too and I have a few roughed up ones in my box to prove it ![]() James Edited by Tackle Industries 5/23/2009 9:37 AM

Tackle industries, nice work, this business has alot of wannabe's & armchair quarterbacks; if it wasn't for guys like you we'd still be fishing with hand lines, bone hooks and larva off the tree's... Thanks for your efforts to help us catch the fish of our dreams!
