What body of water in your opinion will hold the next record muskie. I feel that it could be Georgion Bay/French River Delta, however the last came from the Big Chip so thats always possible.

I would put that tank near a power plant and maybe spice things up with a mineral block.

Posts: 130 Location: Menomonee Falls, WI | After doing a lot of research at Mapping Specialists and talking to guides and fisheries biologists for our new Green Bay series of Lake Maps I believe that the next World Record Musky will be taken from the Green Bay or the Sturgeon Bay area of the Great Lakes. When you look at all of the foundations that are needed to produce a world record fish, this system has all of them. Imposing size(surface area), plenty of water at a moderate depth, an abundance of the RIGHT type of forage (cisco, trout, perch etc.), improving water clarity due to zebra mussels. Water clarity helps sight feeding gamefish of which musky is the king. There has been documented fish taken from this system in the 50# class. In the winter of 2000 there was a 55" fish with a 31" girth taken illegally through the ice that was pushing 60#. The WDNR did a study of the fish and found that it was only 12-15 years old. As the system receives more pressureyou will likley see several 50# class fish and maybe even the next world record. Abe Lang

Could come from anywhere. I've seen really big fish on the Chip, one in Minnetonka, and one in Canada. I think a world record could come from quite a few different places. The problem is getting a fish of that caliber to hit. Hopefully it's broken soon, and hopefully by me or a client of mine!

Ty, there's 0 big fish left in the Chip!!! If you guys would sink some cribs over there, maybe... I would guess Green Bay or Georgian Bay, with a shot from LOTW (ask Bill Sandy about the biggest he's seen) or the Eastern rivers, maybe 'Lacs or Little Arbor Vitae. Hope to see it happen soon. Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | It will come from any body of water other than the ones I fish! It will come from water that isn't neccessarily known to hold muskies. It will probably be caught by someone without the intent to catch a muskie, without the equipment to catch a muskie, and certainly with minimal or no experience in muskie fishing! Posts: 9 Location: Ontario Canada | Thanks to this sport constantly improving for the better the next World Record could come from " anywhere ". My best guess though is Georgian Bay. Bottom line is " She's " out there somewhere boys , GO GET ER. Good luck in the coming season.

Posts: 267 Location: Lake City,Pa. | Well I have to say being for Pa. I have to say Kinzua dam. Very large body of water and not to pressured as far Musky fishing goes. If I think I am right, a state record pike was caught there last year thru the ice. It is a tough nut to crack, but we fish it at least 4 times a year and it will drive you crazy. Also Presque Isle Bay on lake Erie which we allways hit knowing that the is a monster Great Lakes Strain Musky out there somewhere. Just to much baitfish for them to chow down on! Just have to be in the right spot at the right time. Edited by PunchandJudy 3/16/2005 8:41 PM
