| Could be! I'd look at surface temps and compare to the last few days. One cold day isn't likely throw the whole balance off unless the fish are just starting to transition into their summer haunts. Might find a few more in the weeds than you'd expect for this time of year during a wicked cold front, but it's been my experience that you really need a few straight days of cold to change things dramatically. |

Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | During my tracking study work on Eagle Lake in one MAJOR cold front like this, our biggest transmitter fish was buried under a small weed bed that was far below the surface (I seem to recall 6 feet down), when just the day before the weeds had been on the surface. She wasn't moving! What I found most interesting was the cold had actually dropped the weeds as well as shut the fish down. Crazy stuff! |

Agree. On the flowage water that I primarily fish, one day or so of cold weather throws them into a funk but if it lasts longer and the water temps drop 10-12 degrees the fish will get into that skinny water and be pretty active. I try to plan trips north around this type of weather usually late August or early September. |

| I like a cold front on many lakes..May through November , no such thing as too early for a cold front to work its magic (assuming season is open) and fish react different based on bodies of water: weeds, sand, bald rock, open water all can come into play. Fishing in general can sometimes be slow but for whatever reason big fish will often eat. |

Location: MN | I agree with Justin. Cold fronts in the summer can be great on leechers on certain bodies of water. Some waters it shuts them down. Cold, cloudy, east wind is my favorite on one lake. Opposite of what you want on most water. |

that's one bite a summer cold front generally shuts off.. but you cant catch them at the bar..but many nights after a summer cold front you'd have more fun there

I agree with this. The new moon in late August/early Sept. seems to be the tipping point. I think in general, the cold will slow fish activity for a few days. Some big fish should be caught during the full moon next week. Fish activity will spike during the first cool-down after the new moon (after August 20th). Again, all generalities though.

| The fishing has been incredible for me since the cold front move through. Finding a lot of them in that 12-14 ft range.. we've caught three and lost 2 in the past two days! Hopefully it'll continue through the weekend |
